A Midsummer Night's Dream - Headlong - Observing / October 2025

In October 2025, as part of the Origins 5.0 programme with Headlong, I had the honour of sitting in and observing rehearsals for A Midsummer Night's Dream, directed by Headlong's Artistic Director, Holly Race-Roughan.

 

The production was first performed at The Globe's Sam Wanamaker Playhouse and is due to tour to multiple sized venues across spring 2026.

Gurt Haunted: South West Tour 2025 / Oct-Nov 2025

In October 2025, my production company GURT Productions set out touring our debut show Gurt Haunted. 

​

Whilst also producing and starring in the show, I acted as Touring/Assistant Director for the company. Here, I was leading techs, get-ins, get-outs and assuring that the overall image and quality of the show was maintained across the tour, working alongside director Krista Matthews.

Headlong Oxford Residency / September 2025

In September 2025, as part of the Origins 5.0 programme with Headlong, I attended a 4 day Directors residency in Oxford/London, attending several directing masterclasses.

The masterclasses included were; Directors practice/career journey (with Tinuke Craig), Pitching work (with Daniel Raggett), Director/producer relationships (with Headlong Producing Team), Director/Designer relationships (with Loren Elstein) Director rehearsal prep (with award-winning director Marianne Elliott), Staging workshop (with Oxford School of Drama students & Oxford Playhouse Artistic Director, Mike Tweddle) and a Casting workshops (with Oxford School of Drama students & The Casting Director of Shakespeare's Globe, Becky Paris)

Seven Dials Playhouse First Steps - Defenestration / September 2025

Building on the Research and Development of Defenestration at Front Room Theatre in August, I was successful in receiving a further commission for Defenestration from Seven Dials Playhouse in London.

The commission gave us a full weeks R&D without the 
pressure of a sharing, with funding to cover 5 artists at Equity minimum rates for the week. 

Whilst here, we specifically began experimenting with Punk-gig theatre as a form of storytelling, alongside 3 actor-musicians. 
 

Gurt Haunted: Miracle on North Street - R&D / August 2025

In August 2025, alongside my collaborators in GURT Productionswe started the initial Research and Development for a Christmas adaptation of our debut sell-out show, Gurt Haunted. 

 

Commissioned by Tobacco Factory Theatres in Bristol, we were asked to create an adaptation of the show to be part of their Christmas season in December 2025. 

Alongside Director Krista Matthews and the other collaborators, I assisted/collaborated on the direction of the R&D week.

Defenestration - R&D / August 2025

In August 2025, I was awarded a small commission from Front Room Theatre in Weston-super-Mare to do an initial exploration on my new project, Defenestration.

The show is a piece of Punk gig-theatre that explores working class male aggression & the radicalisation of white working class men to far-right ideology, particularly in seaside towns.

In this week, myself and collaborator/co-director Taylor Ayling spent 5 days explored form, narrative and the themes within the story.
 

Headlong/National Theatre Research & Development - Assistant Director / August 2025

In August 2025, as part of the Origins 5.0 programme with Headlong, I was the Assistant Director on an R&D sharing of a brand new play written by Joel Tan. 

Taking place at The National Theatre Studios, the sharing was directed by Mingyu Lin and attended by many national/international Theatre Producers/Artistic Directors.

Headlong Origins Directors Residency - Manchester / July 2025

In July 2025, as part of the Origins 5.0 programme with Headlong, I attended a 4 day Directors residency in Manchester, attending directing masterclasses and show watches at the Manchester International Festival

Whilst here, we had workshops from leading industry professionals on topics such as environmental responsibility (Robin Lyons), Theatre Green Book (Headlong production team), Creative Access (Amy Leach & Ben Wilson) and Dramaturgy (Suzanne Bell & Frank Peschier) 

 

Small Hotel R&D - Observing / April 2025

In April 2025, as part of the Origins 5.0 programme with Headlong, I had the honour of being part of an R&D week on Small Hotel, A new play for Theatre Royal Bath directed by Headlong's Artistic Director, Holly Race-Roughan and starring Ralph Fiennes.

The House Party - Observing / January 2025

In January 2025, as part of the Origins 5.0 programme with Headlong, I had the honour of sitting in and observing rehearsals for The House Party, directed by Headlong's Artistic Director, Holly Race-Roughan and starring Synnøve Karlsen.
 

Headlong Origins Programme / January 2025 - December 2025

In January 2025, I was chosen as one of 5 directors to join the Origins 5.0 programme alongside touring theatre company Headlong.

The programme gives up-and-coming directors the opportunity to receive 1-2-1 mentorship with top-tier industry professionals, residencies/workshops at some of the best theatre venues in the U.K. observation/Assistant Directing opportunities and the chance to embed yourself and learn from Headlong's practices.

Audioreel / January 2018 - January 2025

In 2018, I established the media company Audioreel, alongside Co-Director and Sound Engineer, Joffy James. 

Audioreel was established to create professional, affordable, online content for actors and performers.

As the Co-Director, I directed and oversaw the production for hundreds of V
oicereels, Songreels and Live Performance Videos for various artists.

Theophilus: A Journey Of Faith / 2024

After featuring in the rehearsed reading for Theophilus: The MusicalI was asked to direct Theophilus: A Journey of Faith

Theophilus: A Journey of Faith will be a ten episode YouTube series exploring the questions many people face when contemplating their faith. 

The YouTube series is due to be completed in February 2025.

Gurt Haunted / 2023

'Gurt Haunted is so perfect a paranormal parody that it more-or-less retires the genre. It is certainly one of the funniest staged shows I’ve ever seen.' - Bristol 24/7 Review.

After a successful R&D period back in November 2022, 
Gurt Haunted returned for a short run across the spooky and festive season in 2023. 

 

Playing at Front Room in Weston-super-Mare, The Alma Tavern and Theatre in Bristol and at a collaboration event at the Loco Klub in Bristol, the show received high praise. The show will now go into development for a hopeful South West Tour in 2024.

Gurt Haunted: R&D / November 2022

Devised, directed and performed entirely by the company, Gurt Haunted is a paranormal comedy show.

 

After testing new material at a series of Work In Progress nights, Gurt Haunted will go on to play a short tour in October 2023 across Bristol, Weston - Super - Mare and Bath.

The Ground Between Us / October 2022

Working alongside Theatre Orchard, I directed their adult company Open Door in The Ground Between Us. 

The Ground Between Us was the culmination of a two year project titled Theatre Forum, which explored the issues faced by vulnerable communities in Weston Super Mare.

 

As the Director of the show, I worked alongside 70 community members including refugees, vulnerable elderly people, SEND young people and a community poetry group to co-create the show.

ROAR! / August 2022

I was fortunate enough to direct ROAR! A climate parade in response to New Substance's art installation, SEE MONSTER.

​

Working in partnership with Theatre Orchard and IntoUniversity, ROAR! focused on empowering young people from under-represented backgrounds to voice their concerns about climate change, through visual art, movement and music.

Weathering Together / June 2022

I worked alongside Sound Designer and Composer Joseff Harris to create Weathering Together, an immersive audio piece that featured on New Substance's installation, SEE MONSTER.

​

Conducting interviews with community members and assisting to help shape the overall narrative of the piece, I worked as an Assistant Director and Dramaturg alongside Joseff. 

RTYDS: New Directions Programme / March 2022

I was selected by Tobacco Factory Theatres to join the New Directions South West Programme, which is a training programme for emerging directors from the South West of England. 

Across six months, I attended a series of workshops conducted by industry professionals and worked alongside peers from partner organisations imPOSSIBLE producing, Exeter Northcott, Beyond Face, Tobacco Factory Theatres and Hall For Cornwall.

The Awards / October 2021

In partnership with Theatre Orchard and PYTCH Studios, I creatively directed 3 award ceremonies for Looked After Children in South Gloucestershire.

​

Streamed live from a virtual studio to hundreds of homes via Zoom, I directed, produced and operated the award shows alongside South Gloucestershire Council.

Inner Circle / July 2021

I was selected by Circle Theatre to direct a monologue titled The Greatest Mistake I Ever Made written by acclaimed writer Christopher Brett Bailey.

​

The monologue was rehearsed entirely over Zoom during the COVID-19 pandemic and was first performed on the night of the showcase.

The monologue was performed by Bristol actor, Elliot Winter.

In Plain Sight: Cardboard Citizens / October 2019

I was selected by Bristol Old Vic and Cardboard Citizens to be an Assistant Director and Facilitator for In Plain Sight. 

The show was a Forum Theatre and Legislative Theatre piece, working with community members who had lived experience of homelessness in and around Bristol. 

​

the show was performed in The Weston Studio to policymakers from Bristol City Council and has informed their approach towards homelessness within the city.

Darlings: Edinburgh Fringe / August 2018

Working alongside the team at Palomar TheatreI worked as the Assistant Director for Darlings.

Darlings was directed by Eleanor Hope Jones and toured to Bristol and Bath for previews, before playing the whole of Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2018 at C Venues.

School Crumble / March 2017

Performing as part of the 24 Hour Plays challenge, I directed INKBLOC Ensemble in School Crumble

​

As a newly established company formed under the Made In Bristol scheme at the Bristol Old Vic, School Crumble was created in 24 hours by members of INKBLOC Ensemble and performed on the main stage at Bristol Old Vic. 

​

School Crumble was my directing debut.
